| About Us Craftkits started in 1985. it was created to fill a need in the availability of inexpensive, yet quality craft items for children who had an interest in American Indian lore. It has evolved from offering only 12 kits to now offering over 100 different kits, items of regalia such as warbonnets and breastplates, drum and shields, suede vests for parent/child groups, and books and music. We're not just for kids anymore but offer products for the youngest to the oldest and most experienced. We are still a small operation and we either "do" or watch over very closely all aspects of the business. We will probably be the person who answers your phone call - we will be the person who answers your email. We are the parents who have been involved with our kids in parent-child organizations and classroom situations....we are the hobbiests who have a decorated buffalo skull and dance stick on the fireplace wall. We are not the biggest; but we try to be the best. We take pride in our products and pride in our service as well. Your satisfaction is guaranteed. Period. - Steve and Laurie The Benefits Of Camp Craft Kits For summer camps, Native American crafts are the ideal activity. Children get to learn about another culture, they gain a sense of accomplishment, and they get something to take home. Ask any young campgoer and they will tell you that this is exactly what they want from a camp experience. Learn About Native American Lore Instead of just talking about Native American lore to camp kids, why not bring them face to face with a part of this culture? Day camp native craft kits allow you to teach by getting the kids involved which helps them to feel more involved in learning. Children learn better when they are stimulated and these craft kits allow children to touch a part of this culture even as they learn about Native American lore. Gain A Sense Of Accomplishment Children need to feel a sense of accomplishment. Not every child is going to be the most athletic or the smartest or even the most popular. But you can show every child that they can create something special. For a child to begin with a craft kit and to be the one who works to make it into a fully realized craft can have a profound effect on that child's self-esteem. There is something about working through a task yourself and seeing the finished product that shows children that they have the ability to complete projects and to see things through. It brings children to life and makes them start to wonder what else they might be able to achieve if only they tried. Make Something You Can Take Home This is one of the best parts of camp craft kits and even scout craft kits for school. When a child is done with the craft then they have something to take home to display prominently in their room or to show everyone they know. There is a sense of pride in having this one-of-a-kind creation and this feeling of pride never needs to be lost because the craft is a constant reminder. Years later the child can look at that craft and be taken back to that time they spent at camp making friends and enjoying the innocence of childhood. Native American crafts are perfect for summer camp and even for school activities. Children get to learn, to see a project through start to finish, and to take home the finished craft when it's all over. They have a good time and a craft that will always remind them of it. |
